"Fangio Wins At Monaco"; how about that for a title that sums up what this section is all about?

Fangio wins the second round of the Formula One World Drivers' Championship in Monte Carlo in his Alfa, one lap ahead of Ascari's Ferrari. Race held on 21st May 1950; this report published three days later.

Fangio's sweeping victory and the nine-car accident on the first lap (when a wave from the harbour swept across the track) captured the headlines; but this was also a seminal moment in F1 motor racing. The Cooper-JAP of Harry Schell was the first rear-engined car to start in a championship race.

Oh, also the first ever race for Scuderia Ferrari. And the first Formula One Grand Chelem (pole, fastest lap, lead every lap, and win). Quite a weekend.

Two page report with three photos, full result, starting grid, and intermediate race positions.

Graham Hill and BRM are crowned World Champions after the East London Grand Prix on 29th December 1962. Jim Clark also had championship hopes - he had to win - but, despite setting the fastest lap of the race and a new circuit record in his Lotus-Climax, he was forced to retire (from the lead).

Three sided report with six pictures, provisional results and full Drivers' and Manufacturers' final standings. There would have been more pictures but at the time of publication (2/1/63) they were sitting on the tarmac at Frankfurt Airport, snowbound!
